Weighing in at 20 ounces, this tooling maul is perfectly balanced for long tooling sessions without the typical hand and wrist fatigue that develops when tooling for extended times. The handle is a beautifully stained engineered wood with solid brass fittings built to last a lifetime. Weights can be removed to adjust the overall weight of maul. Slight warping of the poly-head over time while tooling is normal and will increase the grip of strikes on tools. These mauls are designed to be used for tooling, not punching. Using this tool with excessive force could result in plastic flaking from the head or other failure. If your maul head gets damaged, we offer replacement maul heads.
